The annual Run and Ride is a benefit for local cancer patients. ALL proceeds benefit the Cancer Patient Support Fund via the St. John's Medical Center Foundation. An event that is fun for ALL ages!
Sunday, June 5th at Wilson Elementary School
The Run N Ride is a duathalon---a 5 km run combined with a 15 km ride.
The start – finish is located in beautiful Wilson, Wyoming. The course follows the scenic Fish Creek Road---a beautiful two-lane country road that winds north of Wilson. The race is an “out-and-back”---with the cycling leg following Fish Creek Road to its culmination, approximately 4 ½ miles north of Wilson.
There are categories for everyone! In addition to individual categories for men and women, there are men’s and women’s team and mixed team categories.
To top it off there are categories for juniors (ages 12-15)---and kids under 11 will have their own shorter race course for the training wheel and kick bike category which will immediately follow the adult race! The Kid's Race will be free and registration is the day of.
You’d like to participate but don’t wish to race? No problem! There is a non-timed “fun” class!
Please plan to stick around for the Post Race Bar-B-Que ($15/meal ticket)
immediately following the Kids' Race
and enjoy music, food and fun!
June 5th is National Cancer Survivor’s Day.
There will be special recognition for those individuals who participate.
The Run N Ride is more than a race!
All of the proceeds are donated to the St. John’s Medical Center Foundation’s Cancer Patient Support Fund. The fund is administered by Judy Basye, head of St. John’s Oncology department. It’s used to provide financial assistance for patients facing financial hardship as a result of their battle against cancer. The fund has been used for therapy, travel assistance and a host of other costly areas---many of which are not covered by insurance.
To date over $85,000 has been contributed to the fund via the Run N Ride with participation from over 2100 racers!Any additional donations to the Cancer Patient Support Fund can be given to St. John's Medical Foundation, at the St. John's Medical Center: PO Box 428 Jackson WY 83001, checks made payable to "Cancer Patient Support Fund".
