Waxable Skis: These Nordic touring skis are traditional length skis which fit longer than mid-length cross country skis. Generally, the benefit is better glide and solid stability that is gained from the length, not the width of the ski.

Waxless Skis: These touring skis offer both convenience and versatility for cross country skiers of all abilities in a variety of snow conditions. “Waxless” means that the middle of the ski has a textured pattern so your skis will grip when you push off (kick) and provides traction so your Nordic skis do not slide backwards. Contrary to belief, waxless cross country skis do need to be waxed, the waxless pattern needs to be treated to prevent icing in certain snow conditions.
